Faith Formation for Grades K – 8
Our Faith Formation program for Kindergarten through eighth grade will be using the
“Gospel Weeklies” from Pflaum
– an exciting new approach to children’s catechesis for preschool through junior high. Each student receives a handbook or catechism,
What the Church Believes and Teaches
, plus 32 weekly lessons based on the Sunday lectionary from September through May. The handbook guides children to understand the basics of the Catholic faith; the weekly lessons inspire them to seek out ways to practice their faith in their daily lives. The learner-friendly format involves students in each lesson – and then goes home to involve parents as well, and to foster attendance at Sunday Mass.
Faith Formation classes are offered in English for Grades 1st - 8th, from 6:00–7:30pm each Wednesday, from October 5th through May 24th. Classes are offered in Spanish on Sunday mornings, 10:00-11:30am, September 18th, through Mid-May. All classes are held in the school.
Parents are encouraged to attend a Bible Study Class that is offered during this time in a separate classroom in the school. Registration for Faith Formation is required. Please down load and fill out the registration form under "links" to the left and return it to the parish office.

Sacraments for High School Students
We also offer The Rite of Christian Initiation of Children (RCIC) for high school-aged children who need to receive the sacraments of First Eucharist and/or Confirmation. Please contact the parish office if you are interested in our RCIC classes.
Faith sharing is life sharing! All classes are taught by volunteers. We are always looking for men and women willing to donate their gift of time and faith. Please consider the possibility of teaching in our program. Training and ongoing support is provided. All volunteers must be fingerprinted and complete the
“Shield the Vulnerable
” course offered on-line through our Diocese of Sacramento. If you are unable to donate an hour a week, there are many other opportunities to assist with other, short-term sessions. If you are interested in volunteering in any capacity, please contact Pat Earp, Faith Formation Coordinator.
